Priorities

Our client was established from within one of Europe’s leading electricity and gas companies to take responsibility for the construction and modernisation of all their power plants. Some 600 engineers and technical staff were brought together to form a central pool of expertise on a subject that was previously spread across various companies and countries throughout the Group. Their business goal was to become one of Europe’s leading engineering and project-management companies.

Approach

TRIMENTIS lead the implementation of our core Strategy Formulation Process. Guided by a series of meetings that introduced concepts, tools and techniques; specialist teams were guided by experts from TRIMENTIS and completed analytical stages of the process employing our best-practice toolset.

Strategy formulation was conducted as an iterative series of meetings involving a wide range of stakeholders to capture the teams' experiences, aims and ambitions. Finally, an extensive programme of documentation to produce a robust strategy was delivered together with support to communications to gain wide understanding and commitment to the strategy.

Results

• A systematic, authoritative and pragmatic Health and Safety Strategy was collaboratively developed achieving Main Board approval and wide commitment throughout the organisation.
• The strategy set out class-leading standards of health and safety performance to be achieved, the rational and methods to be used, as well as plans and resources necessary to deliver the desired outcomes over the strategic timeframe.
• The main components of the Health and Safety Strategy defined were Policy, Vision, Goals, Objectives and Programmes arranged within Key Subject Areas.
• Delivery of the strategy was described in detail including organisation and responsibilities, annual targets, the health and safety management system, and contractor procurement and management.
